Puber Kalam Webdesk: Four sail fish caught in the nets of fishermen in Kalapara, Patuakhali, Bangladesh. In local language it is called Golpatha fish or bird fish, but in English it is called sail-fish. This fish is very large because it has fins. Quick. So the local fishermen call it a bird and it’s called a fish.

Abu Kalam, a fisherman, brought these fish from Alipur Fish Landing Center, a fishing port of Bangladesh, last Tuesday afternoon. It was later sold to a dealer for 13,000 taka. In this regard, Abul Kalam, a fisherman, said: “These fish were found in the sea three days ago while fishing and then sold on Tuesday. We get these fish twice a year.”

Ardar al-Amin said, ‘Fish are very swift, so many people know them as birds. During this season, fishes get caught in fishermen’s nets. Fish is in high demand because of its good taste. I arranged to buy four fish for thirteen thousand taka and send them to Dhaka. Hope to get a good price.’

Kalapara Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Apu Saha told the media that the fish tastes good. However, this fish is in high demand outside the country.
