KARACHI: The Standard Chartered Karachi United Youth Football League 2022-2023 held its closing ceremony, sponsoring over 1,200 footballers. Over the last five years, in partnership with the Karachi United Foundation, this exemplary sports initiative has engaged more than 5,000 talented players and dozens of community centers.
On the six-year partnership, Kadia Hashimi, Head, CABM, AME & Country Head, Pakistan, Standard Chartered Bank Pakistan, said, “Since its inception, the SC KU Youth Football League has gained real momentum and we are happy to have touched the lives of over 5,000 young people. until now. Through this league, we managed to bring together children from different communities and backgrounds on a level playing field through friendly competition.”
Commenting on the league, Imran Ali, Director of Youth and Community at Karachi United said: “This year, with the support of Standard Chartered Bank, we have been able to cast a wider net, increase participation in the league and make it more inclusive and it aligns very well. with the Bank’s mandate for community impact. We have also seen an increase in female participation along with new teams from across Karachi.
