tinsukiaA Class 9 student went missing in Assam’s Tinsukia town on Thursday after she was reprimanded by her school principal and asked to bring her parents. However, the girl was later rescued safely, police said.
This incident is from Don Bosco School in Tinsukia.
According to the principal, the student was resorting to inappropriate methods during the examination in the school. “During an English exam, the girl was caught with some chits inside a handkerchief and the teacher on duty brought her to me. I allowed her to attend again and asked her to call her parents for a meeting on Thursday.
However, the girl did not reach school on Thursday. When the school management contacted the parents about her absence, they said that she had left for school in the morning as usual.
A missing case came to light and the police swung into action to trace the girl.
“We immediately distributed his picture to all the police stations, and a team was also sent to search for him. We found him near the Dhola-Sodia bridge on the Brahmaputra river,” Tinsukia Superintendent of Police, Debojit Deuri told IANS.
He said that when the principal asked her to bring her parents, the girl was very scared. Due to this, she could not gather the courage to reach the school and she did not even inform her parents about the incident on Wednesday.
He said that due to the timely intervention of the police, any untoward incident was avoided today.
Meanwhile, a section of parents and people accused the school administration of insensitive behavior with the minor.
