Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has convened an important meeting on Monday March 13 in Islamabad to consider petitions against the ban on election rallies.
An Election Commission spokesperson says the petitions filed against the implementation of Article 144 by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will be considered in a meeting chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja tomorrow at 10:30 am. .
It should be noted that on the instructions of PTI President Imran Khan, Babar Awan filed an application in the Election Commission, in which the position was taken that the implementation of Article 144 for the rally of Tehreek-e-Insaf is illegal and Election campaign is a constitutional right of PTI , the Election Commission should put an end to the implementation of Article 144.
The petition further alleges that the Punjab government is violating Section 15 of the Supreme Court judgment by implementing Article 144, the Punjab government is trying to stop the rally by justifying the PSL match, PTI IC Rally Route and the PSL match is different, the Rally will end at 17.30, while the match will start at 19.00.
The petition filed by the PTI further alleged that Article 144 was not implemented in any city during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the Punjab government illegally banned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). (PTI) is stopping the election campaign.
