Although A.R. Rahman and son A.R. came together for the first time for a movie promo video. Silambarasan’s Pattu Thala new promotional video song features Rahman and Amin.
Titled ‘Ninaivirukka’, the song, composed by Rahman, is sung by Amin and Shaktisree Gopalan (Rahman’s frequent collaborator). Kabilan wrote the lyrics of the romantic number about a couple reminiscing about their love and good times. Ninaiviruka is a bittersweet number that also features the film’s lead actors Priya Bhavani Shankar and Gautham Karthik.
Earlier, during the shooting of the song, there was a rumor on social media that Silambarasan failed to shoot for the song as he was out of town. A popular YouTube channel buried the actor for not being available to promote his own film while being a part of Varisu’s promo song. Later, Pathu Thala director Krishna tweeted that Simbu was not part of the song’s promo from the beginning and asked people to stop spreading hate against the actor. As the video for the romantic number between Priya and Karthik’s characters is now out, it is clear why Simbu was not a part of the shoot.
Pathu Thala is a gangster film, in which Silambarasan is a mafia kingpin named AGR, who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. The trailer of the film hinted that Simbu is playing the role of an anti-hero. Pathu Thala will release on March 30.
