Islamabad: According to the government, inflation in the country has fallen by 8.01 percent each week, after which the headline inflation rate has remained at 29.28 percent.
The Bureau of Statistics released its weekly inflation report, which shows that the prices of tomato, onion, lentils, ghee, garlic and other items have fallen over the past week. During a week, the price of tomato has fallen by Rs. 12 per kg while the price of onions has fallen by Rs. 39 per kg.
According to the data from the Institute of Statistics, the prices of flour, gram dal, potato, dal mung, eggs, sugar, live chicken and dal puree have been recorded. According to the report, a 20 kg bag of flour cost more than 297 rupees for a week. A 20kg bag of flour rose from Rs 1,323 to Rs 1,621 while the price of pulses and chickpeas rose by Rs 6.37 per kg to Rs 257.50 per kg. The price of mung dal rose from Rs 248.80 to Rs 252 per kg. The price of sugar per kg increased by 71 paise to Rs 87.64. The price of eggs per dozen has risen by Rs 1.47 in the past week. An increase of 12.76 rupees was also recorded in the price of live chicken per kg for one week.
