A 28-year-old woman, who had recently landed in India to meet her boyfriend in Bengaluru, died under mysterious circumstances in the city’s Koramangala area early on Saturday.
Police said the woman has been identified as Archana Dhiman, a native of Himachal, who worked as a hostess. According to the police, she had come from Dubai to meet her boyfriend Adesh who works with Capgemini, a private software firm in Bengaluru. Adesh is from Mangaluru.
A police officer said the incident took place around 12 noon when Dhiman allegedly fell from the fourth floor of a flat in Renuka Residency in Koramangala where Adesh lives.
According to the police, Adesh and Diman met on a dating app and were in a relationship for the past six months. There had been some differences between the couple recently, they added.
DCP (Southeast) CK Baba said, “On Friday evening, the couple went to Forum Mall and returned home after watching a movie. They partied late into the night and had a fight. We see if the woman died or was killed. We have taken Adesh into custody for further investigation.”
A police officer said the woman’s family has been informed about the incident and they arrived in the city on Saturday. An FIR will be registered based on their complaint, the official added.
