Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam and wicketkeeper Muhammad Rizwan have rejected the offer of rest for the series against Afghanistan.

According to Sama TV sources, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan rejected the Pakistan Cricket Board’s offer of rest for the series against Afghanistan and said that they are the best performers of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8 and need rest.

The media reported that the PCB was planning to rest the national team captain and wicket-keeper-batsman for the 3-match series and Shaheen Shah Afridi was expected to be named as the regular captain.

There were also reports that players like Saem Ayub, Azam Khan and Ehsanullah, who performed well in the PSL, will also be selected in the team.

According to Sama TV sources, Babar and Rizwan believe that if they are given time off, it may affect the unity of the team.

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are Pakistan’s highest ranked batsmen in the T20 rankings and are also the highest run scorers in PSL 8 so far.
