A student studying in the famous Chandigarh University of Punjab has made a video of other girl students taking a bath and has gone viral on the internet. When the students studying in the university came to know about this, eight girls tried to commit suicide. The situation in the university was getting uncontrollable. Students and girls sat on dharna. After this, the Punjab Police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. The accused student has been arrested. In a short while the chairperson of Punjab Women’s Commission has reached the university.

The SSP of Mohali has reached Chandigarh University. SSP Vivek Soni said that we had received a complaint that there was some uproar about a video made by a student here. We have registered an FIR in this matter. The student has been taken into custody. There is a lot of evidence in this. which we have to collect. It has also come to the fore that the girl used to send videos to someone in Shimla. We are also investigating in that matter and trying to find out what was being sent in the videos.

Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has tweeted. Chadha has said that the incident in Chandigarh University is very shameful. The Punjab government will not spare the culprits under any circumstances. I appeal to all to maintain peace. We are all with you and justice will be done.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted saying that In Chandigarh University, a girl has gone viral by recording objectionable videos of many girl students. This is very serious and shameful. All the culprits involved in this will get the harshest punishment. Victim girls have courage. We are all with you. All act with patience.

Chandigarh University is a private university which has been working in the field of education in Mohali for the past decade. Many students are studying in this university not only from Punjab and all over the country but also from abroad. The entire campus of the university is on the Ludhiana Highway in Mohali’s Kharar sub-tehsil, about 25 km from Chandigarh.

Manisha Gulati said that an FIR has been registered in this matter. He said that do not pay attention to any rumours. There is no such thing as suicide of any girl. The accused student has been arrested. The Women’s Commission said that the health of some girls had deteriorated during the protest, who have been taken to the hospital. Who is behind all this, on whose behest all this happened, the investigation is going on.
