Bharat Biotech’s intranasal ‘Five Hands’ is approved for limited use as a covid booster. On Friday, the Drug Controller General of India, DCGI, gave the go-ahead for the use of this Covid vaccine. Bharat Biotech claims that this nasal dose is different and more effective than the corona vaccine used so far.

According to information shared by Bharat Biotech, this nasal vaccine is very different and effective from other vaccines used so far. Several things make it very special. Because this vaccine is administered through the nose. Therefore, it will create an immune system in the nose that will deactivate the infectious virus as soon as it enters.

It is easy to use and can be used at home. It also does not require trained healthcare professionals. Avoid injection-related risks such as infection or post-vaccination pain. Most importantly, it has the ability to kill the virus before it enters the body, so there is no risk of organ damage.

Bharat Biotech claims that the intranasal vaccine elicits a broad immune response and has the potential to prevent both infection and transmission of COVID-19. On September 6, the DCGI approved its iNCOVACC intranasal Covid vaccine for emergency limited use in people over 18 years of age.

As reported by ANI. Bharat Biotech has sought permission from DGCI to allow its use as intranasal heterologous booster doses. After Covishield and Covaxin, this vaccine can be used as a booster. The central government started giving the booster dose to all adults from April 10 this year.

Is it necessary to take a booster dose?

Booster doses provide better protection against Covid-19. The first two doses are still effective in preventing the development of severe disease, but may become less effective over time. Especially senior citizens and people suffering from serious illnesses may have a weakened immune system.
