Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) challenged the implementation of Article 144 in court after the election schedule was announced
The petition was filed by PTI leader Hamad Azhar’s lawyer.
The petitioner took the view that Article 144 cannot be implemented after the publication of the election schedule.
The petition asked the court to declare the action of the caretaker government of Punjab as illegal.
It was also requested that in future the court should issue directions regarding Article 144.
