Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan apologized for his statement in contempt of the lawsuit.

A contempt for the lawsuit was heard in Islamabad’s Supreme Court for threatening a female judge. A larger bank headed by Chief Justice Athar Minullah heard the case. Judge Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Judge Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb, Judge Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri and Judge Babar Sattar sit on the bench. Imran Khan appeared in a personal capacity before the larger bench of the Supreme Court of Islamabad.

The lawyer asked the court for permission to come to Imran Khan’s stage.

Imran Khan said I will only take one minute from the court. I’m ready to go to the lady and apologize.

The court dropped the charges after Imran Khan apologized. The Chief Justice noted that it is not appropriate to continue with contempt of court.

Imran Khan took the position that in the 26-year struggle he has always spoken about the supremacy of the law and if the court says so, he is ready to appear in court and apologize. I assure you I won’t do anything like that again in the future.

The court postponed the contempt hearing until October 3 and ordered Imran Khan to submit his affidavit until September 29.

On the occasion of Imran Khan’s appearance, strict security measures were put in place around the court.

Islamabad Supreme Court rejected Imran Khan’s written response to the previous hearing. Imran Khan did not unconditionally apologize to the court in his written response.

Instead of an unconditional apology, Imran Khan expressed regret for his words. The court rejected Imran Khan’s response and decided to charge him.
