Jammu and Kashmir’s only internationally recognized football coach Sajid Yousaf Dar has received another honor after being appointed by FIFA as a consultant for its ‘Coach Educator Development Pathway Project’.
About 20 coach educators from across the country will participate. There will be 5 to 6 Coach Educator Developers who will mentor the participants throughout the course.
Kashmir University football coach and the only internationally recognized football coach of J&K will be one of the consultants for the project.
The project has four phases.
The first phase is going to be e-learning which is already underway and will be followed by an online course in October.
The third phase of the project will be onsite guidance of participants in November at Goa and the fourth phase will be individual consultation of coach educators.
FIFA is focusing on the development of domestic coach educators which will ultimately help member associations develop more qualified coaches.
Apart from his routine job at University of Kashmir, Sajid has been assisting the All India Football Federation in various coach education programs as an educator after completing his tenure as head coach of the Indian youth team and senior Indian women’s national football team.
Sajid is currently an AIFF D and AFC C license coach educator and has conducted over 20 coach education programs across the country. Recently he has also been upgraded as an AFC B License Coach Educator and assisted Marino Dias in the AFC B License held in Bhubaneswar Odisha.
