Maharashtra Cabinet Expansion: If we look at the social, educational and economic background of the 18 ministers in the cabinet of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, information comes out that is shocking in many ways.

Special Representative, Mumbai: If we look at the social, educational and economic background of the 18 ministers in the Cabinet of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, information comes out that is astonishing in many ways. Almost 12 out of 18 ministers are political; Criminal cases have also been filed. According to their affidavits, all the ministers in the cabinet are millionaires, out of which BJP’s Mangalprabhat Lodha has the highest wealth of Rs 441 crore, while Sandipan Bhumre of the Shinde group has the lowest wealth of Rs 2 crore. One minister in the cabinet is a 10th pass, while one minister has a doctorate.

Cabinet expansion of Shinde-Fadnavis government took place on Tuesday. All the ministers in this cabinet are millionaires. Most of this wealth is in the name of BJP minister Mangalprabhat Lodha, MLA from Malabar Hill. Lodha, a builder by profession, has assets worth Rs 441 crore, according to an affidavit given to the Election Commission. A six-time MLA, Lodha has movable assets worth Rs 252 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 189 crore. Apart from this, Lodha has five flats in South Mumbai. Five cases have been registered against Lodha. Tanaji Sawant of Eknath Shinde group who won from Paranda constituency in Osmanabad district has a wealth of 115 crores below Lodha. Sawantwadi MLA and Shinde group spokesperson Deepak Kesarkar is on the third position. He has a wealth of 82 crores. While Sandipan Bhumre, MLA from Paithan of Shinde group with assets of Rs 2 crore, is the ‘poorest’ minister in this cabinet. He has been working in Shiv Sena for the last 35 years. Apart from this, BJP’s Vijay Gavit has 27 crores, Girish Mahajan has 25 crores, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil has 24 crores, Atul Save has 22 crores, Sudhir Mungantiwar has 11 crores, while Shinde group’s Abdul Sattar has 20 crores, Shambhuraj Desai has 14 crores and Dada Bhuse. It is recorded in the affidavit that he has assets of Rs. 10 crores.

10th pass to doctorate

One minister in the new cabinet is a 10th pass, while five ministers are 12th pass. Apart from this, one minister is an engineer, seven ministers are graduates and two ministers have post graduate education. One minister has a doctorate, BJP MLA from Meeraj Suresh Khade is the most highly educated.
