Islamabad: Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has announced to provide free flour to the poor and middle class during Ramadan.

According to the Prime Minister’s announcement, free flour will be provided to about one million residents of the federal capital Islamabad in Ramadan.

This was announced at a high-level meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, in which former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Federal Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Adviser Ahad Cheema, Federal Minister of State for Petroleum Dr Mossadegh Malik and other relevant officials participated.

Mian Shahbaz Sharif while addressing the meeting said that they are trying to reduce the problems of poor and middle class during Ramadan. He indicated that modern technology should be used to make the distribution of free flour transparent.

In the meeting, it was informed about the provision of petrol at a reduced price for motorcycle and rickshaw drivers, various proposals were given on this plan, to which the Prime Minister directed the program to be finalized and delivered soon.

Prices of 29 items including potato, onion, tomato, flour, sugar, ghee, dal, rice and milk have gone up.

Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif said on the occasion that motorcycle and rickshaw owners belong to the economically weaker section, the government will take all possible measures to protect them from inflation.
