The Islamabad District and Sessions Court on Monday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against PTI chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan after he failed to appear for a hearing in the Toshahana case.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal issued the order and directed the police to produce Imran in court by March 18.
During today’s hearing, Imran’s counsel, Khawaja Harris, informed the court that his client could not appear due to security threats.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the judge reserved his verdict after Imran sought exemption from appearing before the court in the Toshahana case.

Earlier in the day, the Islamabad District and Sessions Court also issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Khan in a case related to the use of threatening language against Additional Sessions Judge, Islamabad, Zeba Chaudhry.
‘Another assassination attempt’: Asad Umar
Earlier, PTI’s Asad Umar said that the attempt on Imran’s life failed in November 2022 and “we have confirmed the news that his life is still in danger”.
“Another assassination plot is being prepared and according to the details, this attempt will be made during Imran’s visit to the court.”
According to Umar, Imran was dragged through the courts to ensure the success of the next assassination attempt.
“When Imran went to attend the earlier hearings, the security arrangements failed, so we decided that skipping the hearings was less dangerous for him than the assassination.”
Background of the Toshahana case
Established in 1974, Toshahana is a department under the administrative control of the Cabinet and stores precious gifts given to rulers, parliamentarians, bureaucrats and officials by heads of other governments and states and foreign dignitaries.
According to the Toshahana rules, gifts/gifts and other such materials received by persons to whom these rules apply will be reported to the Cabinet.
Lawmakers from the ruling coalition filed a reference against Imran last year, alleging that he did not share details of the gifts he kept from Toshahana and the proceeds from their reported sale.
In October last year, a five-member EKP bench disqualified the former prime minister in the case.
