Ram Gopal Varma on Draupadi Murmu: Bollywood filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has commented on Twitter about NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu.
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has reportedly roped in NDA’s presidential hopeful Draupadi Murmu (Drupadi Murmu), after which the BJP leader has lodged a complaint against him. On Friday, the Hyderabad Police said that it would soon register a criminal case against the filmmaker. Senior BJP leader from Telangana G. Narayan Reddy has claimed in his complaint that the film director (Ram Gopal Varma) has made objectionable remarks about Draupadi Murmu on the social media platform Twitter. Ehids Police Inspector B Prasad Rao said, “We have received the complaint and we have sent it for legal opinion. After getting a legal opinion, we will register a case against Verma under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
Ram Gopal Varma has said on Twitter, ‘If Draupadi is the President, then who will be the Pandavas? And most importantly, who will be the Kauravas. In his complaint, Reddy has said, “Verma’s remarks on Twitter are highly derogatory to a senior woman politician and former Governor of Jharkhand. The BJP leader has submitted the tweet along with the complaint to the police as evidence. He has demanded that the police register a case under the SC / ST Act and give the strictest punishment to the director. Police have said that necessary action will be taken after getting legal opinion. BJP MLA from Goshamahal T Raja Singh has also condemned the statement of Ram Gopal Varma. Raja Singh has said that the director has tweeted in a state of intoxication. He said, ‘Verma always wants to be in the news by making such objectionable remarks.’
