Meeri News

After the murder of Shiv Sena (Taksali) leader Sudhir Suri in Amritsar, the atmosphere in the city remains tense. On the other hand, Shiv Sena leader’s son Manik Suri has held gangster Amritpal Singh responsible for the massacre. He has demanded from the government to conduct a CBI inquiry into the matter and give his father the status of a martyr.

According to news agency ANI, Manik said, ‘There was a threatening call the night before the incident. My father got a call from UK. The caller identified himself as Amritpal Singh and said he was sending some people and his deal was done… The murder was premeditated, 4 shots were fired at them.

Demanded to give strict protection to the family

Manik Suri alleges that he is receiving threatening calls from Pakistani numbers as well. In a conversation with News 18 Hindi, he said, ‘I have received threatening calls from numbers in Pakistan. We have informed the DGP and also given it in writing to us and the family. Strict security should be provided. We will not perform his last rites until our demands are met.

Manik Suri also said that ‘our father was murdered amidst such security, it is a failure of the police. The officers of the Punjab Police who fled the scene should be dismissed.

Along with this, Brijmohan, the brother of the deceased Sudhir Suri, has demanded from the government a CBI investigation into the matter and the status of a martyr to the late Shiv Sena leader. In a conversation with News18, he said, ‘This is the work of Khalistani terrorists. We want a CBI probe into this matter. Make my brother a martyr and fire the fleeing cops. Otherwise all the members of the family will commit self-immolation in turn.

In fact, in the past, broken idols of some Hindu deities were allegedly found on the roadside, which Sudhir Suri called an act of blasphemy. They were protesting against the management of the Gopal Mandir located on Majitha Road, the busiest area of the city, when 31-year-old Sandeep Singh allegedly shot and killed Suri in broad daylight.
