During the inspection at the Excise Department office, Assistant Commissioner Tiwari and the local officers present came from Ujjain. Photo- Rakesh Porwal.
The office premises are seen in a dilapidated condition. Here there can be a danger to life, so the place of work should be changed. For this, talk to the district administration to shift this office to some other government building and write a letter to the government about the new building. And I will try my best for this.
This was said by Excise Assistant Commissioner Sanjay Tiwari, who came from Ujjain to inspect the Mahalwara Excise Office on Monday. There was a short-circuit fire here on Sunday evening, after which they came here to investigate on Monday. He stayed for five hours and inquired about the original cause of the fire, talked to all the branch managers and asked them to make a list of the burned records.
He inspected the place where the records were burnt and gave instructions to maintain better security arrangements in future. It was requested to keep iron almiras in place of wooden almiras, so that in case of fire, the fire does not spread further.
Inside-out and disposal documents were burned
Assistant Commissioner Neerja Srivastava said most of the in-out and disposal documents were burnt. This entire record is also on online mail. It can be picked up from there if needed. Records of establishment, accounts and current offers are kept. However, a comprehensive list is being prepared to clarify the situation. The officer who came for the inspection said to change the place of the office. We will discuss this with the district administration so that a government building can be found, while we will write a letter to the government for a new building.
