Incident in Camp Five area, rescue operation started
Ulhasnagar: Four people have unfortunately died due to the collapse of a building slab in the city. The Ulhasnagar Municipal Administration has informed about this and the slab of the fourth floor of Manas Tower in Camp Five area collapsed and reached the ground floor. In this, three of one family and one person from the shop on the ground floor have died out of four. A total of six people have died in three accidents in the last month. An old man was unfortunately killed when a part of an old building fell on a neighboring house in Ulhasnagar city on Sunday. While this incident was fresh, the slab of Manas Tower building in Camp Five area came to light on Thursday afternoon.
As soon as the incident was reported, the municipal fire brigade, police and municipal officials rushed to the spot. The municipal officials have given preliminary information that the slab of the fourth floor of the five-storey building has collapsed and reached the ground floor. It is known that this building is about 25 years old and most of the flats in it were empty. Some people were trapped under this slab. Four people were evacuated while the rescue operation was underway. Jamir Lengrekar, Additional Commissioner of Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation, has informed that these four have also died. The municipal administration has named the deceased as Sagar Ochani (19), Renu Dhanwani (55), Dholandas Dhanwani (58) and Priya Dhanwani (24). It is known that three members of the same family, Dhanwani, are involved. After this incident, there is an uproar in the city.
Third incident in a month
There have been three incidents of slab collapses in the past month and a total of six people have died. This includes a laborer and an elderly person in the incident that happened three days ago. Interestingly, the notice given to this building on behalf of the municipality was released after the accident. Therefore, it has been accused that the municipality is trying to get out of the case.
